still dont despair, fight the claim, its her fault and the insurance should repair your car back to its original condition. you can get plenty of valuations and confirmations of condition from officials on here. At worst it should be bought back and repaired. as long as there is no chassis damage its a cheap(ish) fix. check for any distortion in the floor, around the suspension top and at the bottom of the screen. I think you should be ok. They Cat C'ed my car for this....£900 due to the bump in my front bumper and condition of the faded paint work. They basically look on autotrader and see how they are fetching. I brought the car back for £50. I was planning on a full respray anyway and the guy was surprised i wanted the car back.£38 then an engineers report before any insurance company would touch it again costing £110. Plus repairs to the rear arches i'm left with a couple hundred and the car still needs a respray.
.. Even if it's not easily repairable, it's probably worth breaking, though hopefully it won't come to that. If I get it back, I'll take the wings, bonnet, bumper etc.. off and see what's what, and how bent it is. I'll factor in the costs of getting it back on the road pending a Cat C to see if it's worth it. I've been 33 for at least 5 months

The parts are good and car is only off the road as to much welding required underneath. Looks like it may well be repairable to me. Insurance won't do it, but if you haven't bent anything the suspensions tied to it's got to be worth a go.

I've only recently got mine back on the road with very similar damage. Mine was caused by debri on the A14 causing me to nudge the central reservation. There are a few white ones being broken at the mo. Main expense would be the bumper bar. You'll need a large hammer, grinder and some time. Even if it wasn't, I don't think an air filter would invalidate a claim, it's not like they actually make the car faster. Insurance companies usually only care about things that affect the performance, the K&N just makes it sound faster! I think so, but I can't remember 100%.
Sorted now, stock filter replaced.
I wouldn't risk it. Good to see you have found a suitable replacement. ..... £850 
£1500 (what I paid 4 months ago + new brakes + windscreen + new T-bar rubbers.....)£200 to £250. I don't want to fix it myself, and it's too good to break for parts really. If anyone wants it to repair then please pm me.
