What fog lights have you got that require you to take the bumper off to fit them? :-k It is turning out to be expensive but I always knew it was gonna due to the route I've gone down (all new original toyota parts etc).

standard one but when i toke my old ones off i used a hammer so the bolts on the back of the sheet metal arnt there any more so i gotta do something with that if that makes sense

to be honest i didnt know how expensive it would be but like you i want it to look like mr t done it using as many toyota parts as poss

i found a few cheaper bits on ebay like the hose i found really cheap, rad is on there but hoping a friend of a friend can get me those trade from a car automotive place

Yeah, I have since discovered I paid well over the odds for the hose, also the silicon bends aren't cheap and I'm gonna use more of them than I need to cause they look cool :D

I'm changing the front bumper for a Border one too so I'll need to make brackets to space the foglights out (they are wider apart on the Border one).

Toxo, where did you mount the over flow bottle for the core? Having just paid the fecking earth for the thing (I would NOT have bought it if I'd realised the cost (was bought along with other things)) I'm damn sure going to use it

Was thinking the space freed up where the intercooler used to go?

You can only buy the overflow bottle with all the relevant clips, hose, etc. The whole shebang is about £60, which is a lot for a plastic bottle and a bit of pipe! Mind you if you were to buy the core brand new it's over £1400. I would assume that it needs a) as short a pipe as possible, and b) to be at a similar height to the core. On the ST205 it's mounted to the firewall (equivalent in the MR2 would be where the engine lid lock is) so I was thinking somewhere round there.

Also, you will still need to have an engine bay fan, so the space used by the intercooler needs to be replaced with a bracket to hold the old fan (or a new spal fan). Or you could fit Rogue engine lid fans at the same time.

bloody hell im shocked at the price of both the cc it self and the over flow bottle

mmmm the engine lid fans arnt cheapo either are they but i dont have access toi anything i could fabricate something to hold a fan so i guess that would be the only route i coud take

You could do it with strip ali or steel, like the stuff I made the radiator mounts out of. You'd just need 3 or 4 (can't remember) strips with holes in either end to bolt to.

use a coke bottle as the overflow, it's not like the core coolant should be getting that hot, if it does you have issues.

I got the cinq temp bung from a radiator supplier, cost like 5 quid and fitted perfectly.

The pipework was what killed me, when I do it again I'll be sticking on an Induction kit (already acquired) and removing the Charcoal Cannister <- this will create huge amounts of space where it's needed.

Excellent write up Toxo, great detail :thumleft:

Yeah it's well worth taking your time and finding the bits at bargain prices. I managed to get core, pump and ECU (mint from a WRC edition) for £300 give or take, that's over £2000 new... mind you you'd have to be mental to buy all the conversion parts brand new from Mr T!

I could do with doing that too. From what I remember it's a 5 minute job.

No, it's still at the state as indicated by the thread. I need to grab a few more silicon reducers and bends to neaten things up and get the pipe onto the pump (I've tried hot water, washing up liquid, brute force, I cannot get the 19mm pipe onto the 22mm outlet ;)) but it's too cold at the moment. Getting a bit warmer every day... :D

Are you using the standard ST205 pump?

Yep, it's been attached to my gearbox (in the position shown in my photos) since I started the thread and I've not caught it on anything yet. My skirts are lower than the pump...

OK, I didn't realise that the pumps inlet/outlet weren't 19mm, guess I need a couple more reducers then too.

I believe the O/D on the pump and core's water connections are 22mm. I might be wrong there but they're certainly not 19mm and 22mm is the next standard size up. As I said above, I've had difficulty squeezing my 19mm I/D onto the pump because the pipe I've got is quite sturdy and won't stretch. Your mileage may vary!
