Hello from an oldie

Post by Jevansio »

Just like to say hello again, been away from the MR2 scene for a couple of years now, but today I picked up what is my 4th MR2 :).

Started off with a Red Rev 2 T-Bar GLtd, was stock when I got it & that's the way it stayed as I spooned it on the A19 after a year.

I then moved onto my first turbo, stock White Rev 3 Turbo:

Which I modded to 300bhp and made tastefull exterior mods:

I then moved to a more powerfull pre-built car. It was James Bullocks Black Rev 3. When I got it it looked like this:

Ended up spending a pretty penny on it myself & after a year of heartache sold it to Dan on here (Geeman), I understand it's since cracked the block, guess those 87mm pistons weren't such a good idea on a Rev 3 block :(

When I got rid it looked like this:

I then took a break from MR2's for a while until today when I came back with a totally stock Red Rev 3 T-Bar (UK Spec). It feels so good to be back in one, I can't stop driving it :D

Here's the pics from the advert, will get some better ones once it's had the treatment from me:

Look forward to making this one the best of the 4

*shakes head* you just can't stop buying cars you mentalist :)

Has this replaced others in the fleet or is it a new daily driver?

Good eveing Sir :)

It's a daily drive at the mo. I've taken the Supra off the road (it's unusable in the winter anyway). I just love being in it, it has no rattles or noises. The stock exhaust with cat makes such a change from the 4" Supra exhaust, it's just a pleasure to drive

Cheers Phil, I got a good feeling off the guy I bought it from, he had it for 7 years & it's got full Toyota history, it's def been pampered, the leather seats are mint considering they're 12 years old.

Welcome back mate :thumleft: I've just returned to the MR2 fold also having sold my 2nd Rev 2 turbo, having 2 MK1 Corsas then come back with a rev 3 turbo tin top

When I saw the username, before I opened your thread, the name rung a bell and remember you selling the white rev 3 to DannyW which Enrico now has and also how chuffed you were buying Jame's Black '2

Anyway, welcome back dude 8) :thumleft:

Cheers matey, there's something about them isn't there :)

Yeah truth be told that white one was my fave, the black one although the most powerfull I never got a great deal of enjoyment from on the road, & I think the white one was the best looking of the 3.

Cheers bud, you too :thumleft:

Not wrong there, to be honest out of all the cars I've owned I just go nuts for MR2's 8)

This is now my 3rd MR2 turbo, and my previous car was a 1.6 Corsa sport, which to be fair, I felt like a 17 year old chav in it  Plus it was about as fast as a 3SFE Mk2 (9.5 to 60)

So it had to go and there was only one replacement

Getting back in the seat today was like putting a set of well worn comfory slippers on.

Yeah, the Corsa hasn't got the greatest image :(
