What kind of pipe are you using? My friend did an install on a MK1.5 with thin clear pipe (looked like the stuff in Allan's guide) and found that when it got warm it was prone to kinking, but then it when it cooled down it straightened out again?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] st205 charge cooler help
That's me all out of ideas then, must be the pump
Take it off the car, and see how quickly it empties a bucket of water. Measure how much water you put in the bucket, and you should be able to gain an idea of how much water per minute the pump is shifting. A search on here should give you the flow rate of the celica pump, its something like 6400 gallons per hour?!

Errr.. that's the same as emptying 640 MR2 fuel tanks every hour!! 11ish every minute.. A good Walbro can only do 56 gallons/hour. Another interweb myth methinks..

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] st205 charge cooler help
someone on here had a website, ja99a I think with the measurement rates of the pump but I can't find it now I think the GT4 pump was measured at 12gpm unrestricted which works out approx .9Litres per second. That's 2.5 times the bosch unit....
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] st205 charge cooler help
well guys I sorted my pump its now running fine, and after testing it for 30mins of hard driving my charge cooler coolant was cold, haha wish i could say the same as the exhaust manifold..was glowing red!
toxo...it would appear i had connected the charge cooler as you said, not what i was saying

how did you fix the pump? Glad youhave it working now though
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] st205 charge cooler help
cheers for your help guys,
I changed the bearings and the pump came to life! looked quite worn must of been limiting the resistence of the pump, very pleased with the charge coolers performance was worth all the effort, Im going to disconnect my throttle body coolant pipes tomorrow to make my intake temps even lower!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] st205 charge cooler help
Cool, you've made my mind up about whether to bother refurbing mine before I fill the system!
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] st205 charge cooler help
I'd refurb it for how little it costs just for piece of mind, i had a faulty pump before and the CC was coldish to touch, got a pump from AVT + a radtech prerad as the fiat rad leaked (proves how shoddy fiat is )
and its supercold even after a real drive
