[Mk2] [Turbo] Got TRD leads, do i need to change them?

Post by benny p »

Hey all,

Just about to give my car a complete service: oil, filters etc including dizzy cap/plugs and that. As the subject says, i have a lovely set of Red TRD leads. There is obviously no telling when they were installed prior to import but do you think they will be ok for the time being or should i go for a complete freshen up?!

Thanks

Ben

do a resistance check on them, I can't remember the valves but a search should return the entry on the BGB

Had a look the other day, supposed to remove the distributor cap and test from the cap to the end of the HT lead, if its over 25k ohms then change. Sure thats it anyway.

yup you're right! just looked in my manual! :thumleft:

I'll chuck the new cap on and then test the leads for the most accurate reading! hopefully they're not too old! More pennies for more juicy goodies in that case! 8)

Cheers guys!

yeah the thought of paying out £70 for some new leads doesn't fill me full of joy.
