Seems a bit suspect to me.

'The very first 2000GT ever built by Toyota' and its on ebay for no reserve?

Well TRD would do any MK2, so it didn't need to be a turbo. Though admit I am wondering what a '2.2. stroker kit' is on such a car...

Could be quite a well tuned NA?

I suspect even without a reserve he'd just remove it from auction if it wasn't making enough. Interesting!

Interesting, has the all important TRD Vin plate and being number one as well i'd have said the cars worth more just for the history / collectability aspect.

Its bit of a classic really.

I can't imagine it being that spectacular a drive.

Agreed there. I'm happy with the performance of my N/A as it doesn't cost me a fortune in fuel in comparrison to a turbo, but a car that looks like that you'd expect to go like the clappers. Anything less would be just for show.

2.2 though? Whats that all about? Looks like a normal N/A engine to me.

Why wouldn't you put a stroker in an NA? It'll still give you more torque surely, regardless of whether a turbo is involved or not. :-k

Love the concept. Why not trd seats-braces and suspension coil overs etc. Just trying to get my head around It all. :-k

Possibly the first probe I've liked the look of..

I emailed the seller regarding buy it now and stroker kit; his response:

Hi mate, before it was imported thats what was said on the Auction / Spec sheet, so the list of items done to it are from that. There probably is someway of finding out for definate, but you will have to speak to a technical/ mechanical minded person to check for yourself. It is advertised for £7999ono, will accept senisible offers.
Many Thanx for your time.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

i'm sure i read somewhere on here the most powerful na mr2 in the country has a 2.2 stroker kit fitted and was pushing out over 200BHP, i've looked into them and they're not cheap, the trd history may be a bit 'too good to be true' but looking at it logically to put those seats, cage, bodykit, suspension, wheels and engine work into any mr2 you'd be lucky to see change from £6k

Thats coz externally a stroker kit wont look any different! it changes the internals, giving the engine a larger bore/longer stoke by changine either the bore sizes & pistons, or the lenght of stroke of the engine(new crankshaft). should give you healthy dollop of power! very expensive modification!

Bit pointless as well when you could just drop a V6 in, I bet the actual performance wouldn't be any better than a regular rev3 n/a with the huge wheels and the weight of the kit.

the stroker kit make it harder to rev the engine higher quickly but gives more torque. but unless hes done the rev 3 light conversion(the original woul be beter n worth more) y dosnt it have pre rev 3 lights like some of the other trd2000gt. this bein thats it number 1 of corse

there was no order in which they went back to the factory, for example mine is #15 and rev4, toni's is #8 and a rev5 :thumleft:
