[Mk2] [Generic] S2000 starter button - it all works, but it doesn't!

Post by Rob »

Installed an S2k engine start button on my Mk2 over 2 years ago. It worked fine.

Had a Turbo conversion 1 year ago and it worked fine after that too.

I dislodged a wire when fitting my Blitz turbo timer some time back and tried to connect it back again yesterday.

I have tested EVERYTHING on my meter -

Constant live from ignition barrel = 12v
Starter motor reading on key turn = 12v
Earth = Provides 12v reading when used with above

Relay between loom and S2k button

Switched live to power switch = 12v
Earth to switch = Provides 12v reading when used with above
Wire to relay = good continuity.

Relay clicks when I apply 12v to switched power terminal.

Whats going on!!!???!!!????

Im sure the Blitz loom I connected for the Turbo timer is not causing a problem as it is only a wiring loom that sits between the main ignition harness and takes feeds off whilst allowing signals to pass through as usual.

Any ideas VERY much appreciated!
