Hi Dean

I'm interested, possible two cars, depending on when etc.

They may have done one or two things there. They usually film at Anglesey or Cadwell.

With all due respect this thread hasn't really come to much so I'm gonna book this date. Open pit lane --> :D

I think at £194 for two drivers mid-week is a bit steep :(
Also no chance of me getting time off :(

Looks attractive at that price and with an open pit lane. I'll most likely still do the test day on the day after - I really need to know what lap times I'm putting in and not be held up by traffic I can only only overtake by consent. We'll roll up with the race team on Thursday evening so we'll probably cross paths.

I've phoned Snetterton and let them know you're racing there at the weekend and to keep an eye on you for timing and stuff. 8-[ Just so you know, I had a guy testing at Snetterton this week and he was lapping consistenly in the 1:26's. Eugene O'Brien jumped in the car for a couple of laps and put in a 1:25.6!

1.25.6 is damn fast - Who is this Eugene fellow? Presumably he has prior experience of the circuit/car?
From memory 1.28 was fast last year, 1.27 was very fast on the Falken ZE512's.
To shave two seconds off at Snet is some going given the circuit layout with only a tyre change to R888's alone.

The test day is obviously ideal as far as I'm concerned too, but escalating prices lately (~400 GBP for the day) plus the fact a family friend is longing for a shared drive trackday means my decision is somewhat decided already...

:)

Ps: Unless I have a financial windfall and can do both...

From his website (http://www.eugeneobrien.co.uk):

Eugene is an ex-BTCC works driver and multiple British Champion in Single- Seaters and Sports Cars. BRDC member Eugene started his career in Formula Ford and Formula Vauxhall-Lotus where he raced against and beat several Grand Prix names to be, including Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert and Mika Hakkinen. He then went on to race in the televised BTCC for the factory Peugeot team before a highly successful foray into sports cars winning in Sports 2000 and Pro-Sport 3000 and set the GT2 Class lap record in the Le Mans 24 hours.

Not wanting to lose touch with grass-roots racing Eugene has recently competed in categories as diverse as MX5s, Citroen 2CVs, Radicals and Britcar. In 2007 he and two of his students became the first team to win three consecutive races in the Uniroyal Cup Endurance Series.

He did an out-lap, two hot laps - 1.26.5 and 1:25.6, and then came in. Prior to that he's done a few laps of Silverstone in one of our other cars - thats it!

Hmm - There's a guy who knows what he's doing.
It'll be interesting to see how our guys in the Championship compare time wise.
Damn, if I get down to those kinda' times I might even setup my own website too!
(And maybe grow a beard as this obviously helps...)

In all honesty I really would like to see one of our guys get down to that kinda’ time. At the very least it shows over the past year or more just how the ability level has risen ten-fold.
A time within a few tenths of Eugene O'Brians would be an outstanding achievement.

Could not agree more mate, its not just tyres that have made the difference this season, the sheer pace has risen dramatically as well.
At cadwell park the difference between standard road tyres and FULL slicks on an evo VI was around 3.5 seconds, our lap record has fallen by over 5 seconds this season at cadwell, this is not just the R888,s,people are driving the wheels of these thing,s now  watch out for the qualifying times at snetterton roland as i think steve and most likely alric wont be far away
