Grand Turismo is much better than grid imo. So much more realistic as its all about the realism of the driving at the end of the day, eye candy is just a bonus and while grid has loads of that, the driving seems laggy and unresponsive. Still for an arcade racing game its good fun, a driving sim it aint tho.

I think you may just be missing the point a little. GT5P is quite good on realism, although the racing is not what you'd describe as close. The difference with Grid is that the racing is very, very close and though the handling is pretty arcardey, it actually does the gameplay no harm when you are in the midst of it.

Racing games will never really feel like it does for real. I've seen the reality, the main problem is you get no sense of movement (obviously) when you are playing a game so no matter how 'realistic' it is, it will never have the rush of the real thing. I think that GT5P and Grid focus on different aspects of racing. I've yet to see a game that really encompasses it.

Yeah I agree, your never going to get an exact simulator. I just find grid to be arcadey and it was hyped as being better than gta and it aint. The touring cars are close races, I enjoy that aspect, just disapointed it was so far off the mark on its closest competitor. The only points I can give it over gta are the tyre marks, damage and very close racing. :?

I think you mean GT5 rather than GTA, Grid is better in some aspects but not in others and vice versa, I guess it boils down to what aspects you think are more important rather than what is considered better per se.

I tried playing online with the great unwashed today.. that was an experience.

For some reason i seemed to be nearly always placed at the front, so come the first corner i invariably was punted into a wall and spent the rest of the race trying to drive with shagged steering.

I really think we need to get some private rooms going, in an effort to avoid this.

Otherwise it was good fun, think i managed two races out of about 20 where the car went in a straightline at the end of the race.

Also really annoying is that i kept getting signed out of the PSN. No idea what that is about.

prob a problem with the network lauren. Xbox live get's it and i'm told psn gets it equally. Either that or your router is playing up. I get a dns error on mine alot. I dunno what the hell one of those is but it's fixed by restarting the router.

Its most likely their end i'd guess. We don't seem to suffer any router problems as such.

Far from it mate. Driving sims are damn boring! Arcade racers are FAR more fun to play. The Burnout series are some of the best 'driving' games going....and they are FAR from realistic.

Well we all like different things... so that would be in your opinion. Although driving sims can never be truly realistic really.

Burnout is a laugh, but i always think its more aimed at 14 year olds in all honesty.
