[Mk2] [Generic] Black or Carbon Front Bonnet on Zircon Blue - Opinions ??

Post by mark.pt »

Hi All

Already have a set of black Enkei alloys fitted and was thinking about fitting a black or carbon front bonnet.

Have done a photoshop and was wondering what you guys / girls thought before i go spending all my money.

Thanks Mark.

Mark the thing with two tone one needs to follow It through like head light covers-mirrors-possible roof and other panels. A carbon bonnet Is about 5 kg's tops the OEM bonnet must be around twice or three time that weight this would be the main benefit.Painting the OEM bonnet black:-no. Like the all colour coded OEM factory tone also like the contrast on the wheels being dark-black and would keep to your Initial theme. :)

Don't really understand the whole black bonnet 'taxi cab' look myself (no offence Harry & others).

If I had a carbon bonnet I'd probably paint it body colour :oldtongue:

My old car:

Thinking back, i wish i had kept the standard bonnet on as i think the carbon looked a bit chavvy.

I think the bonnett looks cool, I would like to do this with mine but I would also do the engine cover too. Mine is also zircon blue with black alloys, not got the funds yet to go carbon fibre but I like it. :thumleft:

Haha  lol Geoff the taxi cab look:-classic  Incidentally I was mostly white to start but noticed so was most others and tbh was the cleanest/best look which to myself was too obvious so embarked on the carbon campaign. My white authentic Border vented bonnet ended up with Ryan's 2BAR TRD project car :thumleft:

It will look gash mate and the weight savings are negligable.

Just get some nice shocks and springs to lower it, then get the sidetrims colourcoded and get a Rev3/C-One/MadPsi front splitter if you want it to look nice.

The border frunk would look nice on a fully kitted car but on a pretty standard looking rev2 car? no thanks

Edit: get some shocks and springs seriously that wheelgap makes the thing look like a 4x4

In my opinion - keep it blue, and drop it = spot on :)

Don't like it on yours mate, but like it on Harry's as he's gone the whole hog. Either go all out, or don't IMO, it just looks wierd with only one panel CF.

thanks for all the opinions guys

think your right about lowering the car as it does need to be dropped a little

think i will give the carbon a miss as it probably will look a bit silly if i only do the front lid and no other parts

Rob speaks the truth keep it stock, zircon blues a great colour. Black wheel centres, polished lip mind I'd vote for, thats how I had my old Zircon blue car.

If I went for a light weight carbon bonnet (the stock ones really heavy) on my current car i'd paint it white.
