ow yeah, shes already now. Just gotta go through the head ache of getting a trailer to chelmsford from thurrock for its VIC, then get it taxed, MOT, and insured. On the side I want to get the front sprayed and faded in as the bonnets a bit mucky, and had blue parts welded in under the bonnet. But the spraying can wait :)

Not a bad stumble ! I used to have a blue sunroof Mk1 years ago, which was killed by a mate, a wet road, a roundabout and a lamp-post .... So 8 years later I have decided I want another one !! Finding one that doesn't need "loads" of work is a little bit of a mission, and I might be being too specific in what I want. But then I'll buy a different colour and the one I want will suddenly turn up next door !

What I want ( what I really really want ) is a white Mk1 T-bar with leather, with under 100k, and good bodywork. I can cope with a scruffy seat, and some small bubbles !! But not something that needs me to revisit my days of welding and getting burnt by sparks ..... I'm nearly 40 !!

Bit of arche eye never hurt anyone  I do like the white t-bars. I shall keep my eyes peeled. Good luck with the search anyway and hope to see you at a meet when we both got our cars on the road.

Sounds like a plan ! Let's hope the MR2 club is a little more 'active' than the Karmann Ghia club ......

Now thats a car! I love all the old beetles, vans and stuff like that, beetles and vans are best rat looked but with a stuiped power engine. Ghia's restored properly are blinding.

You'd have loved mine then, it was a 1973 KG Convertible, but I had low lights put on it, towel rails, 1640cc twinport, big twin carbs. I stripped it down and spent a lot of time and money welding in new floor pans, sills, did the heat exchangers, door bottoms, headlamp bowls et etc. Sprayed it raven black, cream leather seats, new hood ... It was GORGEOUS, took it to the Enfield show about 2003 time, and was made an offer that would have been criminal to refuse .... and Karma went. To be replaced by a Citroen DS23 Efi, then a 1978 Corvette Stingray. Then I had to buy a house and became very poor !!
