[Mk2] [NA] suggestions for courier who will collect/deliver alloys

Post by DotNetter »

Hi all

I've won some alloys on ebay but the seller will only offer collection. I've agreed with him that I'll arrange a courier which he's happy with.

I've put a quote into Parcelforce and for 4 x 20kg wheels it's gonna cost me £63 for the cheapest 48hr service.

If I have to pay this I will but wondered if any of you guys had an alternatives? Please note that I'm not after a list of couriers, I only want to know if you've previously sent similar sized/weighted parcels and have an approx price you paid.

Cheers

That sounds about right, doubt you will get it cheaper. I was quoted £75 and ended up driving down to london area to pick them up as it was cheaper. :D

There are courier services on ebay for alloy wheels. Usually around 40-50 quid.

I've used them before and they tend to be very good.

Parcel force quote sounds about right though.

Can't recommend this company. Gave them two days notice, the seller stayed in all day, then a no show... There's a few companies on ebay which will do the same thing this price or cheaper.

One of our members Kris Moyse runs a courier company.

He has offered to take care of some packages for me and says he'll do a good rate for members.

I haven't used him yet but he seems like a decent bloke - maybe send him a PM?

I take it back, the guy on the phone did seem helpful and apologetic, and worked to solve the problem. On that basis at least, I'd give them 7/10...
