[Mk2] [Generic] PP bits

Post by buish »

Back from the shop after 5 months. Had to get my car after shop had some issues, but taking it back once its settled. Got more bits to put on. Project already exceed my spending limit and time, but it'll be finished, maybe in a year or two. Little peek of it before it transform more. I have a before "before" pic, but its on another hard drive.

sorry, haven't been on much. the motherboard on my home computer died last week and the replacement should be here today. also this is final exams week for summer school. been studying and i only have internet access either at work or school till my computer gets fixed.

yes, it is the PP trunk lid. looks like a pointy duck tail. PP does have a trunk lid duct that can be mounted, but you have to cut a good sized hole into the trunk lid. its for the crazy trunk mount intercoolers. i would cry if i have to pay $800 USD + shipping/tax/customs and just cut it up. i'll take a side shot and couple more pics. i don't have a card reader, so have to wait until my computer is running again before i can post pictures. look around on the PP website. they have several pics on there i believe. you guys call it boot, but we call it trunk.

i'll keep adding pictures to this thread of stuff that will be changed/replaced/added. at least 6 parts in the next few weeks.

as for the watermarks in the pics, i've only placed them recently b/c i have trouble with people stealing my images. i don't have a big problem if its for some random thread and people give me credit, but when i find them in for sale threads with sellers trying to give the impression their part looks like mine in a very similar condition. if someone is going to pay several hundred dollars for a part, show them a pic of the exact item being sold instead of mine. end rant.

a BOOT is a shoe you wear

IMAGE REMOVED BY ADMIN

bonnet is a women's hat, not the term for hood
far side and near side is passenger side and driver side
door cards are door panels
wing is bird/airplane wing, yet its mistaken for a fender

it turns out my motherboard is not the problem. i've narrowed my computer problem to either a bad power supply losing one of the voltage lines or possibly a dead cpu since it won't boot the bios, no sounds/beeps, just a blank screen. i think maybe my cpu is fried, but we'll see. so no new pics this weekend unless it happens to be a bad PS which I can buy locally.

back from the dead. school and work consumed my life. now with no work, sucky USA economy, and few weeks of school left, i might get back to work on the car.

new used wheels. those are the volk recommended offsets. i'm on h&r springs and koni struts. the rears clear the housings with lots of room. the fronts are very very close. they do clear with no rubbing, but i decided to use ichiba 5mm spacers and extended lugs.

volk gt-p
17x8 +41 215/40-17 (using 5 mm spacers)
17x9 +37 255/40-17

rear fenders will eventually get a roll this week or next week

yes, i did pickup more parts to install, but i'm a slowpoke. how slow, you ask? i've had parts from 2005 that i haven't even put on yet. car is going back to the shop probably before end of may to get more body/paint work done. so i guess no more updates until end of summer, but i'll post some pics of other parts that will be installed.

guess what's in the box. i finally found it after several years of searching.
