securing the sub box?

Post by Hurstie1981 »

Hello,

I was just contemplating making my own sub box, with the plans that have very kindly been posted on the forum.
I was just wondering whats the best way to secure them onto the shelf, hence when braking they dont go flying into your back!

Any suggestions?

Thanks
philz

Put your T-bar straps around them (that's what I do anyway)

I use double sided velcro tape :)

Works great with the MR2 fluff at the back :)

Any Car Audio place worth their socks, or Halfords or B&Q, well, stick to a car audio place. Don't let them charge you more than £5 for BOTH sides. You need (for a decent 200RMS Sub) 3 strips per sub either in rows or one top, two sides leaving a little gap at the bottom for your wiring or whatever.

But unless you buy more velcro they bounce a round a bit :) Also the MR2 does need ****some**** space :)

if you put them in right they don't move at all :)

If you wanted boot space you've bought the wrong car!

Put your sarnies and beer in the front with the spare wheel and get your GF to wear the bikini in the car, she can wrap herself in the towel.... everyone's a winner.... lol

There was a member on here selling his Sub boxes in the for sale section a while ago. He had designed the boxes to suit some JL audio subs but the best bit was you could still store your glass there as well.

Not sure about the rest of you but when I built the box from philz design it doesn't want to move an inch. Its so perfect that the carpet from the box at each side sets it in without any movement what so ever.
