What... you mean there is an oem wheel cover? I haven't got one
January 2014
..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

Yep...it's really just a plastic peice that sits over top of the spare wheel.....shaped to fit over it nicely :)

my spare is fairly to easy to get just hav to mind the wires lol

Same....designed it so my board just lifts up and over to the left...enough slack in the wires to move it so I can get in there without un-pluging everything :)

Pictures are looking good guys,

Could you all let me know where abouts you mounted the earth for your amps and where you put the wires through for the speakers etc.

Thanks

Earth is direct to battery terminal (it's like 10" away from my amps) and theres a few grommits to push wires through, take your pick :)

Just admiring the handywork of all you gentlemen and I know this thread died about three months back but:
What is stopping all of that moving about.

I'm in the middle of constructing a similar 'amp house' and couldn't figure out what holds it in place?
For example wouldn't braking hard knock your amps against bonnet ???

I am thinking of strapping mine onto the spare using my wifes old holdall strap (will tell her in a few years or say the cat ate it)

Also did you use bendy MDF or just jigsaw shape and also where did you get vinyl from!?!

Alot of Q's but want to get it right!!

Mine is a cobination of weight and positioning that stops it from moving about. Just a perfect tight fit so it can't move left to right, the wood base it's on I mean....the amps are screwed to that :)

I have a question!

Philz - do you mean you earthed your directly back to the battery terminal?

I've done the above, and my amp has an annoying knack of blowing fuses, so I guess I'm gonna try it to the body!

Yep, I earthed direct to the battery.

Have you got the right fuses in your amp? Are you running it at 4 or 2 ohms?
