I've just got an autogauge stealth gauge on the car and it's showing 5 out of 7 bar on idle. Is this normal or is it too high? I mean, i'd have though it would be able in the middle myself if it only goes to 7 bar then off to the red area

Sounds like something is a miss there mate should be 5 BAR @ 3000rpm amd thats top end.
Have a look here I know its a Rev 1 but its nearly the same.
Cheers for the post. It seems to have fixed itself after letting it idle for a good 10mins with a few blips of the throttle. It now sits around 1 bar and then when driving gently hangs around 3bar then goes up to 5-6 when accelerating hard. I'd have replied last night but I went out on the razza
At start up my car shows a tad under 7 bar with the oil cold.
When warm and at idle it happily sits at 3 bar.
This is measured with a Defi gauge.

Check the link and read the post .......... idle is 0.3 BAR correct in the link, I said 3000prm was 5 BAR top end.

Yeah i know that...was not disputing the 3000rpm bit!
I was just surprised at the low idle pressure statd in the link when at idle mine is 3 bar.

Hmmm...maybe the viscosity of the oil, the engine build (mine is fully forged) and where the pressure sensor is located all has a factor in it? Not sure where mine is located to be honest as i got Rogue to build my engine and install my gauges.

Mines been rebuilt from the base up, new everything including oil pump?
There is only one place you can mount an Oil pressure gauge AFAIK and thats on the left hand side of the head. *edit* you could effectively mount it anywhere on a HP oil line, but thats the easiest place

Well if it's a rev1/2 i've heard a sandwich plate is a bad idea as it's so innacurate and theres the fact that they can leak badly. I took my idea from a guy called leeroy over on the oc who told me where to get an adapter that goes into the top left of the block (where the OEM oil pres sender is) then to plumb in a t-piece from demon tweeks so I could use the 3 holes for oil temp press and the OEM sender went in fine. No leaks and some cool looking gauges
Also, my oil pres starts at 5 bar when cold then slowly drops to around 1 bar on idle when warmed up, 3 bar when cruising at normal speeds with average throttle, then up to 5-6 bar when on full boost, i'd assume that's what most people also get roughly?
Checked again.
I get anything between 6 - 7 Bar when cold on idle.
2.5 bar on warm idle.
4-5 bar driving.
Will have to check where my sensor is. I supplied Rogue with a sandwich plate but not sure if they took the pressure sensor from there.

Scott that does sound high. Mine is mounted on the lhs of the head. I read .9bar on warm idle.
The oil pressure will be the same if an oil plate was used. Check what oil your using. as the oil many not be getting up to temp. Do you have an oil cooler without a thermostat?
