Pete,

Mine came to 110 euros too through a booking agency booking.com

I worked it out @ £81.21 which is cracking value.

Ok guys you need to move fast, that's 2 rooms gone already with Shane and Saj on the case NOW!!

I'll contact ''Flash'' Gordon

I've just realised that the 110 euros was only to stay in hotel. if you want dinner and breakfast you have to select half board which is a bit more.

have you guys booked half board?

Pete,

I haven't booked half board as I don't think we need to. With half board you are restricted with time to be at dinner at certain times. Theres a restaurant over the road with a good reputation and plenty on the Mont itself. If you want breakfast it's only 7 euros at the hotel, theres a good pancake restaurant on the island itself
I think we have picked the best place here, cheap, good parking, good views of Mont Michel, not restriced to tide times when we arrive, restaurant over the road, bar and terrace....mmmmmmm magic.....

Check in is after 3pm guys so we won't need to leave Chateau till about 11am and have a nice, slow, drive up, did I say slow =;

That is us booked in now at St Aubert - £81 for two people for two nights with expedia.

Jobs a good one.

Seems like an excellent location and as Michael says half board is too restrictive we will easily find something to eat or I will have to get my camping stove out.

Susan says that she remembers they do excellent waffles with fresh strawberries and cream.

Booked @ Hotel St Aubert

1. Michael & Joanne
2. Pete & Reema
3. Shane & Susan
4. Saj & Gemma
5. Steve & Lisa

If you book via the hotel you will have to pay deposit. Try one of the agents, expedia, booking.com, venere.com etc and you won't have to pay anything up front. Let us know when you booked.
I'm looking at the ferry prices and timetable to Jersey at the moment.

With expedia we paid up front but it just means less to think about at the time of the trip so we are quite happy.

Been looking at the map and theres a great run we can do when we leave Mont Michel Thursday.

Head North East towards the town of Bayeux and visit the famous beaches of Omaha in Huppain, then Utha in Arromanches-les-Bains and then onto Courseulles-sur-Mer. The coastal scenary is spectacular and the history is pricesless.

Arromanches
From a British perspective, a good place to start your tour is the small village of Arromanches, just a few miles away from Bayeux. This is Gold Beach where the British 50th Division landed. Remains of the famous seven-mile long Mulberry Harbour that was used to land almost unbelievable amounts of men, tanks and other heavy equipment, are still clearly visible. Like almost every town in the vicinity, Arromanches has its own D-Day museum, complete with a wealth of photographs, original equipment, and in this case, an excellent and informative film show.

Juno Beach
A little east along the coast, just about halfway between Arromanches and Sword Beach (the second British landing site), is Juno Beach. Here it was the Canadian 2nd Division that came ashore, and in spite of facing heavy and fierce opposition at Courselles-sur-Mer, broke through to make the deepest penetration of any land forces on June 6th.

Omaha Beach
A few miles west of Arromanches is probably the most famous, and certainly the bloodiest, landing beach of all - Omaha. The cliffs here are still riddled with German bunkers, and deeply scarred with shell holes from the bombardment that this most heavily defended beach of all underwent. With German strongpoints commanding the high ground overlooking all approaches, the advance group of US 1st and 29th Divisions, supported by the 5th Rangers and 5th Engineer Special Brigade, faced a terrifying task. The only way forward was by scaling the cliffs and taking out the German positions in a series of direct attacks. The fact that there were around 2,000 US casualties within the first few hours of the landing here speaks for itself.

Just booked a block of 4 parking tickets from Just Tickets for the white car park. Just to let you know these are still available to buy for £33 each.

Michael,

Is that for the club pitch? Is that still going ahead? I remember you mentioning we could have some spaces paid for by the club to stick a gazebo and bbq etc.

No Pete these aren't for the club pitch as such. To be honest this isn't going to happen, we need to get these ourselves. The idea was for the club to purchase 2 pitches so we could put up a gazebo but we don't really need it as there will be enough space in between the 4 that I have bought for such things.

Really nice Mk2 this one.

Love the wheels on it Michael.

I think your taking it for the extra luggage room.

It was a car that would be difficult to refuse

Well done that man. I knew you were going to go for it .

It's just had the cambelt, brakes and service done so it's ready for Le Mans, I just need to decide if it's this or the MK1.

Alhough i probably won't make it, i feel you should keep with the mk1, you know you are mk1 through and through!
The mk2 will be more comfortable but i'm sure you will miss the mk1 excitemant :(

Nice one Michael its looking as good as i thought it would.

Its difficult to say what car to take to le man. If you are using the mk2 more regularly you might want to take the Mk1 for the run.

But if Joanne is packing as much as normal  you might want the Mk2 for the space. (dont tell her i said that)

Im def taking the Mk1 cos even i cant pack light enough for the Mk3.

Nice decision for you to have though Mk1, 2 or 3 :thumleft:
