wiring a cd player on a import

hi i am having a 2nd attempt at fitting a kenwood cd player to my 1990 mr2 g-limited,i gave up about a 3 month ago!i have a standard toyota tape player in at the mo and i understand ive got the active system as ive got a sub and amps behind the passenger seat.i bought a wiring harness for it but its nothing like the connecter on the back!?coming out of the back is just 1 connecter with 8 connections on the bottom and 6 on the top if you get what i mean?will i be better to re-wire it?can i get the amps to work with a kenwood unit?i just read on a other post that i might need a pc9-406 harness to fit 1990 mr2`s?any help would be great! steve

I have a 91 Import G-Ltd with (what I can only presume) is the passive system but this may help you!

It went something like:

I had two separate plugs the main one has 10 wires the little one has 5 wires

this is the main plug:
Blue with Green Stripe (12v Permanent)
Grey (Switched 12V Ignition)
Pink (Passenger side Front Speaker Pos)
Purple (Passenger Side Front Speaker Neg)
Mint Green (Drivers Side Front Speaker Pos)
Blue (Drivers Side Front Speaker Neg)
Brown (Earth)
Green (Dim)
Others I can't remember!!

this is the little plug:
Didn't do rear speakers but the colours (I think)were:
Yellow and Black Passengers side
Red and White Drivers side
and another wire which I can't remember off top of my head!!

ok thanks! ill have a look,everytime i get a diagram off th e websites or follow colours what other people say my wires are never the same colour.most of mine are one main colour with painted on silver dots some close together and some far apart,has anyway used the pc9-406 harness?thanks steve
