MR2 MK1's racing @ Croft Sunday 4th November

The Superprix Rallycross National event is coming to Croft Circuit on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November. I'm planning an MR2 local get together for the Sunday if you are interested. I thought it would be good to go along and support the MR2 MK1's that are racing. We can meet @ Scotch Corner or somewhere suitable and get to the circuit for about 10am this will give us enough time to go down the pits and meet the teams that are racing the Mk1's. Lets give them some good North East support.

Ok confirmed there will be 2 x MK1 MR2's racing today at the Superprix at Croft.

Theres a couple of us in MR2's going along if you want to join us.

Absolutely brilliant day. I'm hooked on rallycross now. Seeing the MK1's on track was awesome. Race 1 was a disaster for the Mk1's, John Wood was in the lead but then crashed into tyres going through the Madhatters Complex and was out for that race. Scott in the other white MK1 unfortunately came last, never mind it was great to see the Toyota's on the track.

They both competed in another race and John Wood came 3rd, some lovely drifting through the Clearvaux corner!!

We came down to John's pit and had a chat with one of the mechanics, we were around John's Mk1 but there was knobody there. I had an engine strut brace from FRA John Light to give to someone but I couldn't find them.

Superb day, would like to support these guys again. Come along to the next one, Croft is a great facility.

Somehow me and Michael missed each other, although I did see John Light on the Saturday.

I actually spun out in the race Michael mentioned trying to avoid John Wood's stricken MR2, which was still across the track.

Fortunately John made the final and had a excellent race to finish on the podium. John actually won the final on the Saturday. Well done
I only qualified for the B final after spinning out twice in the heats, but finished 2nd only 8/10ths of a second behind the winner. The frustrating thing was he jumped the start on the first run but was not penalised, oh well !!

I think we should support Scott and John next season for sure.

Scott will you keep us updated on dates and venues for 2008's season. Would be great if we could get the MR2 MK1 Club involved and really support you guys.
