Same here - it's looking good so far!
Are you measuring corner to corner diagonally to make sure that it's not flexing now that you're removing firewalls etc...?
Not a big problem, granted, but if you're going to be towing it, it'd be good if it was all running straight!

Yep, we are going to box in the open end where the fire wall was as the original wall was a funny shape & took up a lot of space , we are also bringing it further outwards to maximise space & using the cross bracing from the back of the bonnet for rigidity. Weve got a couple of little features which we plan to put on this trailer to make it stand out & we also plan to use as much stuff as we possibly can from the car in terms of detailing & design etc, watch this space !! :thumleft: :thumleft:  , Jinxy

Ok, well progress was a little slow yesterday as the weather was sooo bloody cold, however today has faired a little better, we have now welded in plates over where the rear pillers were & formed them so that the upper swage lines carry on to the front of the trailer, i havnt taken any pics today but will take a few next weekend when we plan on looking to get the open end in shape, but things really are begining to take shape now  watch this space, cheers, Jinxy

Hey, that looks like just what we need, how much box section is behind it ? & can it be bolted to any other box section should the existing one not be long enough ?, what do you want for it ?, cheers, Jinxy

This project is coming on nice Mc Jinxy

BUT

I cant see you wanting to stick a tow bar on the back of that Mk1 of yours are you?

Or are you going to just put it on for special occasions ( France/ Scotland) and then take if off again :thumleft:

Nice project there guys

Im not sure on how much box section is behind it , this would possibly have to be cut out of the trailer frame, but if done there is about 3' possibly but without looking im just guessing i only really looked at the towing bit.
But the towing bit bolts onto the box section with a couple of meaty bolts, so this bit should be easy to remove (famous last words)

As for cost if i can get it for nowt your welcome to it but as its not technically mine  , i'll have to have a word at work although the trailer is dead so i cant see it being of much use , apart from going in the scrap skip.

Cheers Chris you are indeed a gentleman :thumleft: , let me know how you get on & we'll sort something out for collection. Our box section needs to be longer than 3" so we will just bolt the hitch onto a new bit of box section anyway & buy some new bolts, cheers, Jinxy

Hi Jinxy,

Do you have any pics of the completed trailer or does anyone have a MR2 trailer picture. I'd like to see how the area at the front of the trailer is finished off .
