Thanks for posting for me Wade. I do have a photobucket acount but I'm still having all sorts of probs... photobucket themselves think its somehow to do with the mac rather than pc so apple are looking at that end!!! Been like it for ages though, bloody annoying!
Glad you like the pics anyhow...

LOVE the top pic Rob. Ive never seen a more rounded looking 2. Tho i think it would finish it off if you colour coded the centre strip white.

Thx martin. I'm loving that rounded look... the original shape really is lovely in my view. I've considered colour coding or removing/blending the rubbing strip but now it helps the silvered rear 3/4 vents work visually and is exactly the same colour and finish as the wheels. Also colouring it would make the car look more modern and I'm trying to make mine look older!!!
Only other external mods I'm still considering are a rev2+ front lip, a border vented bonnet (painted though, not left carbon) or just cutting some vents in my orig. bonnet. Lastly I'm going to increase the depth of the rear spats to fatten up the rear whilst keeping them in the orig. shape together with staggered wheels 15x7 f and 16x8.5 r.
I've put a photoshopped pic in my garage to show you the effect... could someone get it into this thread for me?
Thx

Really like your car Rob looks very different (in a good way) and as for your rear number plate must be a first! Good Job :thumleft:

Rob.
IMHO do not get a rev2 lip coz it looks so round with rev1. Id blend the lip to the bumper and have it painted. Also do not get another bonnet of any sort unless its OEM style as it will ruin the lines of the car.
Fattening the spats is a good idea. I didnt know which pics you meant tho so i didnt post them up. Personally id red or black out the rear lights to make the colour constant as the rev1 lights are a bit messy. LOL sorry im picking at your car but just a few subtle mods id do if it was my car.

But it really looks lovely. :thumleft:

Heya Martin.
Thk you're right about the rev2 lip, I'll leave the rev1 on. Interesting idea to blend it in. Bonnet wise I'm just gonna cut vents where the Border ones are in my orig. so they wont have the Border raised lip around them... get the effect (I'll add a rad relocation kit later) without having to use pins and without ruining the lines. So next thing is to fabricate (have fabricated!) my new rear spats and save for those staggered wheels...
Anyone currently running 15x7 & 16x8.5 ?

Looking good Rob :thumleft:

Guys this car is a seriously tidy example of a rev1. Looks newer than most 2s out there regardless of age. Not sure about the spolierless look, but is just seems to work on Rob's car.

Need to do another Cambs meet, although I'ver heard that Chr15py and Fozzy Rev3 have started hanging out in the Focus car park in Huntingdon on a Tuesday night......

....doing dohnuts and racing novas

Thanks for the kind comments Matt. Sure Chris and Fozzy may be playing with novas in car parks but at least it keeps 'em off the roads.
Only kidding guys.
Anyone wana post up that last pic in my garage for me? I'd love some feedback on my proposed new rear spats and the 15/16 wheels. Personally I think it goes a long way to fattening up the rear which is the one difficulty with going spoilerless. It's the last one in my garage...

I'm up for another meet but have now moved in with the g/f in Wheathampstead in Hertfordshire! Still, got my w/e's free again n would like to keep in touch. Just in the process of persuading she who must be obeyed to buy a mk3.... went and had a look at Toni Gs at the w/e so we're gona be test driving a few this sat...
Let me know if a w/e is an option and we might both attend...

Indeed I do Wade. I'll have to find you if the WRA (no 2) goes ahead if your gona be there? So what do people think of the spats... and the 15/16 wheels, worth doing?

Bump.....
So whats the verdict on the spats then? Saw Luke at pacific works and the fabricators over the yard from him are going to have a look at making them up and costing them for me.
Is it worthwhile do people think?

Oh and by the way... Happy Christmas everybody.
