PROGRESS ON MK1 TRAILER ** UPDATED **

Well work has now started on the MK1 trailer, work so far has been to cut the top flange off of the rear brake discs so the spacing between the wheel & the hub is maintained, also we have separated the inner knuckle on each drive shaft & replaced them back in the hubs so that the bearings are secured in their housings.
Today we dropped the engine & gearbox & cleared all the pipework, cables & unnesessary clutter from the engine bay, popped the side & rear windows ready for next weekends cutting, so watch this space

Yep Ollie, they love me to bits its always me they come to when their cars break down or they want to borrow tools & there is only 6 houses & im pretty much surrounded by fields so not too many people keep happy really , Jinxy

Still can't believe you've done that to that poor Mk1 though... Surely there would've been more suitable cars to cut up... like a Mk2 for instance...

Ok, heres the regular Sunday instalment of how the trailer is comming along. Saturday saw us take the front engine bay fire wall out, this looks easier than it is , there was a hell of a lot of metal in there !! & all the spot welds needed to be drilled out so that distorsion was kept to a minimum, but we got there in the end . Today we started to clean up some of the edges & get some profile into the panels so we have a clean slate to start from, but again these cars are so well put together that we only got one side sorted, anyway check out the pictures & see what you think. No update next week, nige is on Holiday & ive got other things to get on with next weekend, but will keep you all posted, cheers, Jinxy

P.S if anyone has a front section of an old caravan chassis with tow hitch knocking about please let me know, Jinxy
