This car has a virtually full stamped service history documenting all of its 120,795 Miles,
It is a N/A 2 litre 16V developing 118BHP which in a car of this size is sufficient enough, it is very reliable, starts first time, handles great and all the electrically and mechanically parts are in full working condition and it is real fun to drive.

The car is in very good overall condition, there are however a few parts of the car which are not 100% cosmetically appealing, these being:

• The Rear Bumper has some of the paint cracking and peeling off – I have been quoted £45 for a used UK Bumper from a trader off the mr2oc site of which I am a member

• The Front Bumper has some paint peeled off around the OS light about the size of a tic tac

• The Aerial works but does not extend all the way up

• The central Locking will only work off the driver’s side door and not passenger side but both doors still lock

• The Gear Stick Gaitor is worn and looks a bit tired but you can source a new leather one for £12 from Rhon on the mr2oc web site

• The FAN is constantly on when the ignition is switched on, I had this checked out by Toyota and they told me that this isn’t a problem – this was the same as my last Mk1 and I ran this for 3 years with no problem I think that some owners do this to keep the engine cooler to increase performance

• The engine runs on for a few seconds when ignition is switched off being like this since I have owned it

• There is a slight scrape under the Toyota badge on the left hand side of the boot lid this is about 2cms in length

Image

These points are very minimal and have not caused me any problems during the ownership of the car at all and in my opinion once the rear bumper is replaced and the car has a good clean and T CUT then the car will look cosmetically perfect on the exterior.

Also if a remote alarm would be fitted then the minor problem of the central locking not working on both doors will be eliminated – who uses keys to open a car door anymore?

The car is only being sold as it was a stop gap whilst I saved for a MR2 Twin Entry Turbo that is the only reason.

If you are looking to get into a MK2 MR2 or looking for a cheaper reliable 100% standard and un-abused example then please consider my car. It`s has never had any aftermarket ad-ons and has only had mature owners the last but one owner was a Doctor and he was the 4th owner who paid £4999 for the car on the 18th September 2000 the odometer was 90,000 sales receipt to prove this.

It has MOT up until 5th September 2008, for the last MOT it had the following work carried out.

Rear Number Plate Bulb
Front NS Shock Absorber
Rear NS Track Control Arm
Rear Brake Pad

This cost me £265.00 including the cost of MOT receipt and guarantee will be included with all the other paperwork. It also passed the emissions and No Advisories were issued either

This is my 3rd MR2, I have owned 2 MK1`s prior to owning this one and my Tubby will be my 4th so you can rest assured that I am not selling this car for any other reason.

I use this as an everyday car and I love it, I get approximately 35-40 Smiles per gallon without pushing the car so for a 16 year old 2 seater sports car is not bad fuel economy at all.

I think I am being realistic in my asking price of £900 as I feel for the year, condition and length of MOT this is a very good price.

I am open to sensible offers so if you are interested then please feel free to contact me with your offers or questions.

I am based in Birmingham not far from the NEC and Birmingham Airport.

Cheers,

Ade
