I may just be interested. Just to confirm this is a NA UK car right?

I am wanting another MR2, somthing I can use regularly but as I have another car, can do any additional work on.

Just a few questions:

When was the timing belt last replaced?
When was the cam belt last replaced?
Where abouts in the UK do you live?

I've got a Rev 2 Turbo (sweet engine + box) but floor pan is creased, almost every panel has damage of some sort. (Stolen/Recovered).

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to transplant the engine, box + wiring from mine to this little beauty ? I can do the work - but just want to be sure that there's no major differences in the shells or engine mountings etc etc that would prevent this being possible.

Completely possible :thumleft: Easy swop for you to do if your comfortable taking engines etc in and out, there's plenty of people on here that have done similar converions, and many have done it by them selves at home etc 8)

*edit* it seems everyone thats contacted me wants to rip out the 3SGE and dump a tubby lump in it

Quite a common approach - yeah you can convert it to tubbie esp. if you have both cars complete and running as it involves looms being swapped etc. but the engine mounting points are (AFAIR) identical in location although the mounts for the turbo are actually stiffer. :thumleft:

The shells are basically the same bar some bolt on bits (not including revision changes)

In fact Paul Woods (engine conversion and general MR2 fettling god) has discovered that the Camry V6 very nearly perfectly drops in - long Mr T story behind that - with only one engine mount needing adjustment.

Funilly enough it looks like the mk2 was designed with the V6 powerplant in mind......

Only thing is with putting a tubby in is the brakes will need upgrading. NA rev 1 brakes are smaller the turbo brakes and rev2+na brakes.

Yeah that'll be OK as mine is GT-S tubby in black. It must have been a beaut before the numpties that stole it trashed the bodywork and the Autostrada rims.

I really fancied finding a black one to transplant into though.

No offence to Matt - cos that is one shiny motor - just got a thing for black cars. Last one i did up was an FTO for my Mrs ....
