The Beast - 465bhp 1990 MkII GT Turbo *£11K*

Post by EarL »

The Red Beast is for sale...

I've owned the car for several years now, and as most of you have seen, spent a small mortgage on it, but the time has come for it to go. :(

I'll be sad to sell it, but needs must, and I feel the time for a little more practicality has come. I have recently got engaged, and have a new family to consider. An Mr2 like mine is a complete indulgence, and one that I have had the pleasure of for some time, but my new family comes first.

I think most of you will know it's spec, but just in case you've been living in a field in the Outer Hebridies for the last three years, it's shown below.

A new fuel system is shortly to be fitted, allowing 2.2 bar of boost to be run. This should see the motor make well over 600+ bhp on C16 race fuel.

Current power output:
465 fwhp @ 7200
360 ft/lb @ 5400
Running just 1 bar of boost (on Tesco 99 octane fuel).

Quarter mile of 12.44 @ 111 on Toyo T1-R's.

The car is capable of low 11's, possibly even 10's.

The dyno readout was taken when the older GT3071 turbo and 870cc injectors were fitted. It has since been fitted with a GT3582R and 1000cc injectors, and re-mapped by Dave Rowe.

What a machine mate!!

I've always noticed this car since i joined IMOC and seen the videos of it too - something else!!

Thing is...whats an offer on a car like that i mean i wouldn't have a clue what you were expecting to get back on that?! people are going to shy away because they don't wanna maybe send you an email saying "would you take £10K for it?" in case you go mad cause your wanting 30K for it lol :D

...So what kind of money is in it?

Kenny,

Cars like these are labours of love mate, and recouping what one has spent on them is an impossible task. I'd love to get something in the region of 15k for it, but I have to be realistic.

I'd estimate it nearing £35k, but thats been over quite some time.

I guess if someone came along with £10k, I might just be tempted.

well selling and breaking must both be crap options for you buddy!

However if i were you i'd suspect that breaking the car or rather returning her to near standard is probably a better option to get back more money

Was initially very shocked at this but you have other priorities so fair enough.

Would be a great shame to have to break it, hope someone comes along soon. £10k is far too cheap IMO but its finding the right person I guess, in the timeframe you've set yourself.

All the best mate :thumleft:
