mk1 supercharger whats it worth?

Post by minty0_10 »

right then the cars a white 89 t bar model with manual box and 155k on the clock.
body dont look to bad ive seen a lot worse how ever there is no mot and no history with it.
it also needs a new clutch.
i know these are quiet rare but any idea how much this car would fetch on an internet auction site

cheers all

no mot, no history, high mileage and 'there's worse out there'....

I'd say £500 -> £2k depending on condition.

The price is vague because your description is vague.

Pics, specs, t-bar or moonroof or tintop?, what needs to be done for MOT?

Help me to help you....

Mint ones can sell for around £4k+

without an MOT and with problems youll be lucky to get more than a grand for it. if its easily fixed for an MOT then the price will rise according to how easy it is to get MOT'd. cosmetic condition, mileage, tidyness, etc all then add to the value. absolutely immaculate showroom-standard examples can fetch £4k+, a generally tidy car is worth about £2k, poorer condition cars fetch £1k and less depending on how bad condition they are in

the engine alone can fetch £3-500, so if its in poor condition just break it for spares, youll easily make a £800-1000 from it in spares

the cars not min at the moment i was thinking of buying it to sell on but i was not sure on the value. it would seem a shame to brake a rare car through. or are they not as rare as im thinking?

You'd easy get £500+ for the engine alone if it runs right and its advertised in the right places i.e. corolla forums. People will tell you its not worth much but stick it up for sale for a grand and watch em come running like flys on xxxx!

I'd start at 2k maybe more, you can always lower your price

Sorry - lets get this straight you want to seek the advise of genuine enthusiasts, then buy with the intention of profitting from it?

Why not just put an enthusiast in touch with the owner? Avoids using your money, and still stops it being scrapped.

Nope - I have a mk1 SC, and one's plenty thank you :D But theres plenty of others who would appreciate an opportunity of an SC project - without a middleman :thumleft:
