Might as well get my own thread going on this section....

Post by irish_dan »

Bought my 2 about a month and half ago now...loving every minute of it.

When I bought the car it was basically standard, bar a Forge dump valve which I've since sold in favour of using the standard recirc BOV. After having a look around the site for a week or so I decided to get my first mod, one of Tim's Extremeboost downpipes....

Couldnt belive how light it was compared to the standard CAT assembly!

Not long after I bought myself the Blitz SUS Air Filter on suggestion from Luke (Skywalker). Have to say I'm loving the combination alot. It sounds amazing. Need to add though that Lukes a bloody bad influence! :P I always have something new on my list after he's been to play with the car.... ](*,)

Saying that though, I'd be bu88ered without him. He's done all the work on my car as I'm living away from home at the minute. There's not even 2 screwdrivers in the house I'm living in now! Cheers buddy.... :thumleft:

The car came with an XS Power Departure 2 exhaust which I think sounds brilliant. Nice burbly deep growl at low revs but it really sings when you give it some beans...nice and shiny too. Will have to get some pics up tomorrow when I get my mates digital camera round.

Hmm, what else. The exterior is pretty much standard at the minute. I have a set of 17" Khan RSR's lying here that need a refurb but think I'll stick with my standard alloys for a little while longer. Rear lights have been tinted slightly aswell...

Interior wise I've got a little DIN size 3 gauge holder which is used to hold my boost gauge and oil temp & pressure gauges....still not wired either of them up as the filter/sandwich plate combo is causing me a bit of hassle...

Just bought a Momo Millenium steering wheel and TRD short shift kit from eBay and a member of the club respectively...cant wait to fit them. I'll soon be bankrupt if I keep up this spending...not even had it 2 months but I've already gone through £250 worth of petrol and spent over £500 on mods! :pale: Ouch....

Still though, the clubs been such a good resource for me to get info and suggestions for mods, etc...everyone seems to be really helpful and friendly aswell which is good...

Anyway, I only have a few pics from the Pistonheads advert before I bought the car...I'll try get a few more up tomorrow after I've given it a good wash/wax (weather permitting  ) Sorry for the life story...thought I'd get it out of the way now and add to it as I modify the car to my liking....wheels/suspension is on the cards as soon as my monetary sitiuation improves \:D/

Took some photo's today...still not washed the wheels but I'll leave that for another day....as you can see its still all as standard as you can get exterior wise...I'm going to wait until I have the funds for a complete bodykit/spray/alloys/suspension makeover....which should be in about 2 years time!

Interior is pretty standard at the minute but I'm putting on my Momo Millenium wheel and TRD short shifter on Friday so I'll put up another photo then...

Just got back from the rolling road day at Crazyhorse's workshop and am well chuffed with the results.....

253.4hp at the fly
213 at the wheels

Not bad for a 14 year old Rev2 with just breather mods carried out....was running 12psi aswell so if I up that a bit and throw on an uprated intercooler I should be laughing!

Well as Luke already knows my car was hit 2 weeks ago. Was stopped at a set of traffic lights in the wet and a Ford Fiesta drove straight into the back of me....

Luckily I spotted her in the rear view mirror and lifted off the handbrake before she hit. The damage wasn't that bad but its going to cost 850 euro to repair. Good job she's paying for everything. We're not going through insurance either as it's just not worth the hassle....

Anyway, here's a few pics of the damage...

The exhaust took the brunt of the impact along with the panel behind the number plate. Could have been alot worse really...it's still on the road and the damage isn't that noticable.

Still though...the paintwork was flawless before she hit me. Wasn't a mark on the car. Now the entire rear bumper needs to come off for spraying. Hopefully it'll not look like its been resprayed. Hope the exhaust can be rounded back to its original form aswell....and that there wasn't any damage further up in the system near where it connects to the DP....

Oh well, guess it was just my turn, eh....

I can have that exhaust tip back to her former glory if the bodyshop don't do it for ya.

Real shame, but like you say, hopefully we'll never be-able to tell.

Shout me when you're back Dan. We'll get her into the new premises :thumleft:

Here's the view

Cheers Luke. The guy I know at the body shop said he'll get the exhaust tip rounded out but if its a bit of a dodgy looking job I'll be sure to let you know. I'll be back at the start of October or around then anyway so might call up to you before the end of the month....might possibly have either a boost controller or some nice alloys fitted by then along with the short shift and turbo timer I'm fitting this week :D

:thumleft:

The view looks nice by the way
