[Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone any good with 'electronics'

Post by unyonion »

As above really:
Hi I am just trying out an idea... I have this from Maplin Electronics that displays temp out/in & time, it also has an electro luminescent (spelling?) light that comes on with the push of the button.

What I want to do is hook up a power source from my sidelight curcuit that would ultimately 'turn' the EL light on with the sidelights? is this poss with use of resistors etc.?
I did try taking another one apart but when I put it back together the light will not work, even tho I didn't touch anything inside?

Thanks Mark

anything is possible.... but need to take it apart first!

The maplin description says:
"bright EL backlight, which, when activated gives 3 seconds of soft blue light so that you can read the LCD screen"

Question - what happens if the button is pressed and held? (Simplest solution)

Linky: £9.99

This also looks worth an investigation - Possible single-din fitting?

Linky: £29.99

No good for EGTs, but would be OK for chargecooler monitoring...
