you'd be surprised mate....you can test fit a toms scoop in 5mins!!! Incredibly easy! Just remove the access panel next to the engine cover and it just clips/bolts in. So technically you *could* actually fit it there and then if you wanted. You'd soo tell if it wasnt the real deal.

oh....also...if its a pair of scoopsm then I can assure you that at least one of them aint the real thing. Toms only actually made a passenger side scoop, they never officially produced a drivers side scoop.

so looks like you're getting copies :)

I wouldn't worry too much, a lot of the copies fit well, but If I were you, I'd test fit the drivers side scoop there and then, just to be on the safe side. Its usually the drivers side scoop thats the problem, as there was never an original item to take a mould from.

good luck...fingers crossed...get them fitted for the next mascrat manor meet ;)

Aye, I got a damn good price, so I was a bit worried, hope they fit ok. Any ideas on what a typical bodyshop would cost to get them painted?

White or Black to match the Carbon Fibre back end?

Hi

The guy I'm buying from says that a test fit is fine....

He says that the passenger side is Toms and the other side is from Shui Racing who were a TRD affiliate?

Am I being fed porkys, or does 'Shui Racing' exist? 'Cos I can't find it on Google, did he mis-spell it?

Erm.....think you might be getting porkies ;) Genuine TOMS are quite expensive, about £150 each if not a bit more IIRC. They're probably just good quality copies.

I'd paint them black to match the engine cover, should be able to get a good job done for about £150 I'd say. I know a VERY good fitter here who specialises in jap body kits who's very reasonable if you need someone.

Probably copies. As has been said, TOMS don't do driver-side scoops. The genuine article will have a scoop thing inside to direct the air onto the filter. The one shown on the ad doesn't have this, although it looks like the driver side one. But if they were original scoops why show a pic of the copy and not the legit near-side one?

I bet they're fake.

He says they're not fake copies like on EBAY
So were is he selling them, yeah ebay.

And he says he has both sides unlike everyone else selling just the left side. lol :? :?

I'v been making and selling both sides for 2 years now, so he hasnt looked far.
From other peoples past experiences i think you might have probs with them.

Good luck.

Thanks Russ, I really would've got your ones, but including VAT they're actually about the same price as a Carbon Fibre one from the States. I saw the one today and paid umm, lets say much less than half Rogue price for it, and although I knew it was rough, it'll work out less painted and drilled than a Rogue one :(

Sorry, Rogue ahve been great for parts in the past, but I can't justify the massive cost :( Now if you sold CF ones... That would be sweet.

Well

Good news is that so far including Gloss Paint & Fitting and all the other bits, it's still less than £150

So if I sell it on eBay after a few weeks (cos I don't like it or whatever). I can probably make similar.

Seems to be ok, not very good quality, wouldn't pay more than £60ish for it, but not bad.
