Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
I have been looking at the pictures of peoples engines on here and i seem to be missing the two cross over struts on my car I can see where they would mount. My car is a 1992 mr2 gt
Are they only on the turbo?
please help as im worried now
on all T-Bars, so really the only cars not to have them are UK sunroof cars and Tiptop G-Ltds, because their body is a million time better than the T-Bars and so don't need them

Increased rigitdity in the structure of the car's rear end... You've got a front one right?
Better cornering and possibly a general increase in the quality of your ride.+ Chrome ones or s/steel look bling.

Yes you (should) have. It's the cross bar at the top of the front compartment, incorporating the retaining lock for the sunroof when stowed, connects with one bolt on each suspension turret. T-bars and turbos have a different more noticeable front strut.

OOoooooooh thanks for that!! That is there for deffo because i was playing at stowing the sunroof the other day. The only other ones i have seen were on a T-bar and they were black tubes in like a V shape front and rear. So it looks like my car is normal then??!?!?!?!?
1992 uk gt sunroof only has a front one as standard?
Thanks for putting my mind at rest guys =D>

My g/f's UK Rev2 T-Bar didn't have a high level brakelight, car was standard in every way with full history and every receipt from new...
My Rev3 UK moon roof didn't have a strutbrace or high level brakelight.
Highlevel brakelights were optional on UK cars until Rev4 (IIRC).
when i bought my t-bar, the rear lower right hand strut had rusted through, i've replaced this with a new one, although it'd just been through its MOT and they'd not said anything about it... was quite worried about it when i saw it
