Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Had my '2 for a couple of weeks now and loving it, but have just noticed that when you sit in the driver seat it seems to be a hell of a lot lower. Is this standard or has a short-ar$e owned my car in the past and had the driver seat raised? (meant driver not passenger)

Unlikely mainly because making the drivers seat higher would be difficult given that the front bolts go in horizontally so you couldn't just put washers under the mounts like you can on say an elise.
Take your drivers seat out and have a look. Its only 4 bolts and will take 5mins.
apparently the rear mounts have a larger spacer on them on the drivers side, and these bolts are vertically mounted (sorry if that's nonsense, i'm intepreting from what i've been told by a friend)
just had a quick look
passenger side on left, drivers side on the right...(sorry bout the blurry photo but cba to go take another )
would this be a home made backet then?

again on the rear.... someone must've really hated the seat height on this car!
any reason i shouldn't just take the brackets/spacers out?
thought the rear mounts on your seat didn't look standard duncan, didn't realise they looked that different. Nice to see i was correct about the rear mounts, was kind of suprised about the front ones though, just good to know I was right

argh got foiled by the pesky 5th bolt!
convenient time for a quick vacuum and i'll whack the seat back in
