headlight syncronising

Post by Mr Two »

Can anyone tell me how to get my headlights both opening at the same moment.Maybe an adjustment somewhere?
I have just fitted sleepy headlight switch and because one headlight starts to rise before the other,or starts to go down first, when the "sleepy"mode is operated one light looks higher than the other by at least an inch or so.

Cheers

not sure how the "sleepy eye kit" works - but I have installed the Rogue low Rise Quad lights and to get the lights synchro'd you have to adjust the little bar that attaches at the bottom of the motor to the light housing - you only need to move it milimetres to adjust the timing of how the lights pop up...

remove the plastic undertray and you can see up behind the light (you will see where the push rod connects to the motor and the light housing)

As i say I'm not sure how your sleppy headlight kit works but that's the mechanism for adjusting the headlights anyway.

Cheers Frank,i'll have a look at that this weekend and see if i can level them.
Just one thought though-will it affect the parking position of the light by altering this rod?cos at the moment when the lights are down they line-up absolutely level with the bonnet/nosecone/wings etc and i don't want to affect that as it will look "orrid" :(

Again - Thanks

the rod is attached at the bottom to the motor... where this connects to the motor is a round part that swivels up and down as the motor turns it (best i can explain sorry!)
it's this part you adjust to sort out the timing of the pop up lights.. it's best to take the light out and get access from top actually - it's a pain cos you have to put it all back together to test it... take your time.. mine took about 3 hours of "fiddling" to get perfect - but i wanted them PERFECT

cos i'm a bit @nal like that...
