Coppers checked and changed on a regular basis, platinums checked and changed slightly less often or Iridium checked even less and changed if necessary.
Coppers will probably be good for 3000 > 6000 miles but will be able to do their job perfectly well.

Agree. I use NGK 7E's in the Supra; they work perfectly well. They're cheap enough to replace every service, as compared to these fancy iridium things.

I'm kinda looking for the temperature grade,so the combustion/spark temps need to be low.Maybe grade 7's,anyone else agree?
Re: Spark plugs.FAO GTSChris/JJ/Any1 else with big HP Mods
7's would be a good, sensible starting point for a modified engine. It's what I've always used in my modified cars (if they were specced as a '6' as standard).

Yeah 7's should be OK
Re: Spark plugs.FAO GTSChris/JJ/Any1 else with big HP Mods
i notice that some tuners recommend iridium plugs, although this was on a nissan 200sx .I always thought they were a gimmick?
Re: Spark plugs.FAO GTSChris/JJ/Any1 else with big HP Mods
They supposedly last longer and produce a better spark during their lifetime - a bit like platinum tipped jobs and those wierd 4 pronged Bosch plugs you get in some Audi's.
Plain old copper NGK's work well and are cheap (cost me less than 25 quid for a set for the Supra), so I don't really see the point in them, to be honest.

the 3sgte doesnt like iridiums.
They have a tendancy to shatter inside your cylinder.
there is a big post on the us forum about them.
i belive even JJ has had this problem.

I use cold grade platinums
number bkr7evx and have never had a problem with them.
I tried the coppers but on my engine they didnt seem to like the high boost.

I run 1 grade colder NGK copper v-groove plug (same as i sell on my website), if people and having issues with these plugs i would recommeding checking the gap to 0.71mm (0.028") as they don't come pregapped as many platnium do.
Copper conducts better then platnium (all though platniums do last alot lot longer).
Iridiums, jury is still out on acutal benifits vs the bore scroring problems i have heard of; i am not risking it
