[Mk2] [Turbo] How much for a TRD?

Post by Gaz6002 »

Hi all,

I'm considering making a return to the MR2 fold :D

I've owned a few Supra TT's now but feel the MR2 is a better car for my purposes.

I am only going to be considering TRD kitted cars and was wondering how much they are going for these days? I can only find Shafs old black one for sale at the mo.

It doesn't have to be a genuine one but does have to be pretty clean and well maintained. Engine mods are not essential as it will be coming out and tarted up anyway.

Anyone got any links? Or just prices.

Thanks in advance

More a question of when they come up rather than price!

Budget around £6.5-8k on the job and you won't be far out! Mines in projects. PM me or put a question on the projects post if you want?

Kit £1k?
Paint and fitting £3.5k?
Wheels £2K+?

I fitted mine myself too

Good Luck, the resukts are almost worth it \:D/

I'm toying with a few ideas right now but am still on the lookout for any cars that fit the bill.

Theres something very appealing about building a 2.2 TRD 8)

A 96 GT-S turbo with a GENUINE TRD body kit sold in Japan yesterday for £6500. This would be in excess of £9k on the road here. This is cost price so as you can see they are rare and expensive.

My guys out there have been looking for an original TRD for sometime now and still no luck as yet.

Cheers

Unfortunately these days there is no such thing as availablility - due to the shortage of unusual MR2s in Japan. You might find one straight away, you might have to wait for ages or you might not find one at all.

I'm still thinking about different options mate, I fancy a change after 2 black Supras!

No worries about the advice, the MR2 is a wicked motor

I have just secured number 05. Going to a delighted new "home" and no doubt will be seen around at various meets. Due here in the UK July. Pics will be on my website soon. Please don't ask how much - this is up to the new owner whether he chooses to reveal or not.

Tally this year so far - 3 SW20 Spiders and a TRD2000GT

Cheers
