I've still got a little rattle on idle - but that's the clutch bearing as it goes when you depress the pedal - and you only hear that when at idle as i say - at least i know what that is, so not bothered about a new bearing or clutch :eye:

got a squeaky clucth too - pivort not greased enough on install i guess - oh well lol... 2 rattles left - one day one day

typical MR2 squeaks - don;t you just love em

Cheers. Can it be seen from the rear/front of the car?

cosmos blue, fingers crossed that was your problem too !
£2 to fix :D

Club, it is at the rear of the car as the drive shaft comes out of the gbox on the drivers side - but really you need the car up on axle ramps to slide underneath to get at it.

Well finally had my new bolt fitted and its early days but think its silenced a noise!!

Clutch release bearing is pretty new so doubt its that. Only others noises I have now that are from the gearbox - worn bearings  ](*,)

http://www.mr2-tech.com/bgb/mechanical/ ... d_axle.htm

Page SA-52 Rear Drive shaft 3sgte engine section. At the top of the image you will see the bearing bracket stay that the axle goes through. This has the snap ring to the left of it and to the right a single bolt with a dotted line showing where the bolt goes in the stay. This is the bolt. You just need the one and it is easy to replace without removing anything else once you are under the car.
