Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Engine Code-3SFE for slower model, 3SGE for normal, 3SGTE for the dogs dangleys!
Top end perfomance will be different. Dont think there is a huge amount between the FE and GE at low speed (upto 3040)
Check with REDMR2. He had an FE b4 i think.
Yea whats wrong with the 120horses mr2! I have one and its fairy nippy, and has a nice bit of low down grunt, great for driving round town, and fuel economy is good... Also labour for work on the engine is cheapish, as the access is better than the later cars.
Keep your eyes peeled for the 3s-FE writing on the cam cover! The engines look pretty different though I dont have any photos!
lol sorry mate!! Not trying to diss your car but i am looking for the 160bhp one and was wondering how i would know if i got one or not.
Thanks for all your replies

never did a 160bhp one?? u mean 156bhp rev2or rev1 up till halfway through 1993
My mate in Kent had a Mk2 with the 3SFE engine, and he loved it as it gave him the look and feel of a sports car without the insurance and fuel costs of the 3SGE MR2s.
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!
