Sound like a deadlock.... turning key to left does it

Lots of giggling and slight in-and-out action <and patience>!!!!

Make sure you use the same key that locked it.

LOL yes i think it was turned left.
car was bought just under 2 weeks ago and only had 1 key, it says toyota on it but unsure if its master key. lots of playing and i still cant get it to unlock :(

theres a code on the key, do you think i could order a master with this code?
lever does nothing, you can hear it moving the cable when stood near the bootlid but doesnt unlock it

Sounds like it is deadlocked - Get plenty of penetrating oil / GT-85 / 3 in 1 or similar into the lock, and patiently try to work the key around to unlock it - it should go eventually.

The other options aren't good.

Best case is to remove the key barrel from one of the doors, and try to get a brand new master key cut by Toyota using the four digit number on the barrel - the numbering of UK / JDM barrels should be the same, but may not be ..

Next up would be a locksmith,

Very worst case - a cold chisel ( http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Tool-Shop/ ... old-Chisel ) and a large lump hammer but you're going to do a lot of damage to body panels :(

Worst case? :) Worst case would be cutting a hole in the rear bumper behind one of the wheels, unscrewing the vent and reaching all the way into the boot to release the mechanism! Fortunately when I removed the lock from my boot and then closed it I didn't have the rear bumper on my car...

I'll be going through Stoke on Sunday @ 5ish if that's any help. I'll give it a damn good wiggling...... O:) THE LOCK, you lot...

Done a couple now, there's a knack to it. (LOCKS!!!)

Let me know if you're not too far away, I don't mind a small detour... it'll keep me out the pub.. :-#

you must use the master key to open the boot.

a cut key will not work on my car , if its dead locked or just locked.
