Please help me get insurance!

Post by chris99 »

Can you all please post some contact details of insurance companies. I am having real difficulty getting more than one good quote.
So far its Adrian Flux at £626.40 TPFT for a 22yr old no NCB

ALL others so far have been way over a grand

Main stream ones like Elephant and Admiral are really high!! ](*,)

Please help my MR2 dreams come true

Thanks in advance Guys

Chris

is it a uk car or an import you are getting quoted on? if its an import (even an NA) that aint a bad price considering age/0 ncb.

i cant believe your quotes from elephant and Admiral are high!

i was just going to suggest them becoz ive been searching for cheap MR2 rev 3 turbo insurance myself (im 22 with 3yrs no claims). so far my quotes for full comp 12 month insurance have been..

Adrian flux: £1400
Elephant: £1200
Bell Direct: £1350
Admiral: £940

Norwich Union, Directline, Tesco, Liverpool Victoria etc etc wont insure me on the rev3 turbo becoz its an import and im under 25

the only thing i can suggest is try 'confused.com' ive been told its very good :D

i think im going to go with Admiral, they have offered me a 10 month full comp bonus accelerator (which they still give me a full years no claims for) and that will be £860 for the year, with declared modifications aswell \:D/

Hi sorry,

The car deail i have given are 1993 uk N/A worth £2500. I have a low risk post code passed test a year ago and been on my girlfriend insurance have my pass plus test pass. NO MODS

The adrian Flux one seems really good and all the other insurers have told me to bite their arm off

P.s i think they may have taken my 3yrs NCB on a bike into account??? Along with a year in my other half car???

you should be grateful mate.
i was paying 1900 with dorset on my turbo last year! FC, insured for 5k with mods!
now im with elephant for 970, same car, same mods plus induction kit now.

EDIT; you cant expect super cheap insurence on a mid engined car when youve only been driving 1 year and with 0 NCB dude.
all the best though.

are uk NA's a group 16? ie - 1 less than a uk scooby. If thats the case mate i'm pretty sure your not going to get much cheaper than that, that is a good quote for 22 year old with 0 ncb on a group 16 car
Jay

PS your 3yrs ncb on a bike means nothing when getting quotes on a car

Hey these are good prices with Admiral - wil have to try them at renewal time. All others are spot on to what i have been quoted aswell. Same age/but i have an extra NCB than you.

What mods have you on the car?

my renewal came up recently with tesco, it was HIGHER than previous year, so i got a fresh quote from the internet. This turned out cheaper than my renewal quote, so took that on.

Point is, always get a fresh quote cos these companies reward new customers other than their established ones.
I sent a snotty mail to them bout this which was ignored.

Last time I checked, NA's are 16, but Uk Scooby turbo 2000's are 17

The insurance for scooby's has gone through the roof due to chav appeal

I hate chavs!!!!

Looks like Adrian Flux will be getting my money then

Still funny how i can insure a group 16 bike (they only go to 17) that is faster and way more nickable for less. Oh well!!

I am happy with that quote just thought it was strange how no-one else can get near 8-[

just declared a bodykit and non standard alloys, all i was told was that if my car gets stolen or i crash it they will only replace me with standard parts. i wont get my money back for my non standard alloys :( but i think thats quite normal for an insurance company??

i did that too!! i told my mum that she is guna be insured on it... but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will she be driving it! (thats due to her having difficulty manuvering her ford KA, so i doubt very much she will be able to handle an MR2 turbo) :-s

however some insurance companies charge you more if you have more than one person on the insurance, so sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt.. you just have to get a quote with and without to see if it makes any difference :D
