I get my car back tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Post by robbie_742003 »

After a long, long 4 months that has gone on forever,i'm finally getting it back tomorrow. After changing the dizzy, coil, ignitor and sending the ECU to be tested which came back fine (tried to save money by using a local grease monkey garage) i ended up biting the bullet and sending it to MR T. The same day they call me to tell me its ECU??!!! :-k  So tomorrow i pick up my baby, and will be going for a long drive! Hope to god its sunny so the T Bars can come off! Wanna say a big thanks to JJ who spent a lot of time e mailing me with suggestions and ideas!

I know, i was more restrained than i thought. The ECU? At the local garage; they began by eliminating the ignition components, weeks went by with me chasing them, supplying parts rather than MR T prices. They then whip off the ECU and send it off to be tested and came back fine. After another month or so, they admitted defeat and sent it somewhere else that had more code readers/diagnostic equipment. These people then decided the faults off the computer were pointing to the dizzy. Anyway, after 2 more dizzy's the car is sent back to me......STILL BROKEN!! So i send it to Toyota who tell me the garage must have done a 'short bench test' ie a test done with the ECU off the car, not 'under load'...which was the fault.
Great story eh?
So after 4 months of no car, approx £1000 spent on parts, labour and general pi$$ing about, i now have my car back!

Blimey...I'd seek compensation for that...thats outrageous......to think they didnt test it under load too is a bummer.....I would have gone in with all guns blazing.
Good to have your car back...shame about the costs of parts eliminating the fault.....

Forgive me for being stupid here....Mr.T....Toyota I take it?
