The MR2 Challenge seems to have raised quite a few eyebrows in the motorsport community. People are suddenly realising that the SW20 chassis is actually quite capable and that the 3SGTE engine is rally proven...

Rogue Motorsport have been asked to quote on building an MR2 Turbo for the BritCar series (http://eerc.co.uk/) - an endurance racing series - purely for it's giant-killing potential! It may be that nothing comes of it and the project doesn't go ahead, but if it does... \:D/

Many people who've never driven one (and some of those who have) underestimate the MR2. I'm very interested to see what the Circuit Driver journalist who drove both my mk2 race car and a mk1 race car makes of the experience in the next edition of the magazine. It's probably as unbiased a review as we'll find - he himself drives an MX5, and also drove a supercharged MAX5 as part of the article... :-k

To be honest, i think you're a bit spoilt for choice up there. Down here we've probably 3 stand out circuits, none of which match somewhere like knockhill or Croft.

- Brands GP
- Silverstone GP (questionable)
- Donnington

We've a lot of crap too

- Snetterton (one good corner)
- Mallory Park
- Thruxton (Is there any good corners? I've not driven it)
- Goodwood

And some I'm undecided on

- Rockingham
- Bedford GT
- Castlecomb

Erm, spent so much time trying to think of tracks i've forgotten what my point was. Probably something like "Donnington is the best of the bunch for cost / location hence we rave about it".

I'll make sure I make it to the next Anglesee weekend.

Hmm... I quite liked Goodwood, very ballsy and old school. Combe is like goodwood with added chicanes which really ruin the flow of it.

Rockingham is quite a lot of fun, its quite technical.

Not done FarmerPalmers GT.. have tested on the west circuit which was a bit meh.

Well its a shame you missed the original angersea layout as it was just so perfectly formed for such a short circuit. Having said that the new one could be absolutely mega, will just have to wait till i get a chance to drive it... am so looking forward to it.

You should make a weekend of it and do the cottage thing with us lot, its a nice weekend away tbh... last time there we were in an oak beamed cottage with log fire going, its a nice break. Mark and I are going to hire a batcat next year for the grand opening of angersea with a bit of luck.. :)

The GT circuit brings a lot over the West, if you get the opportunity i'd recommend it.

I can't wait to try Rockingham, even if the infield does look a bit micky mouse.

I'll do my best to make a weekend of it. Hopefully it'll be trackday both days too so i can properly bury my car :(
