dude, don't think you need to refit your manifold heatshield, is it the one that needed to be taken off to fit the DP? If so it prob won't even fit back on without being modified?? I could be barking up the worng tree here but pretty sure that's what Tim DB said... the DP will take most of the heat anyway now...

Na, there are 3 heatshields, flat one on back wall, manifold one which is bolted under the intercooler piping and extends over the manifold and dp, and the downpipe heatshield that surrounds it. The manifold heatshield will fit back on no probs. Its just not doing my intercooler hot pipe any good as it is just getting even hotter even quicker without the shield!

The repair's free mate, I'm doing it myself Already fillered, gona paint it in the next few days... won't be 100% pro finish probably but no point getting it done properly until the summer - chances are I'll do it again at some point anyway in the next 6 months

Good idea on the repair. I did a little playing around spraying my standard splitter when i first got the car. Its not too hard to do small bits.
