got 16" super advans in need of sum tlc, what products did you use to polish the rims? and have you got ne tips on cleaning these beauties....any do's and dont's??

sorry just one more question......how much do you these wheels are worth??? (not selling em...just very curious)

thanks

sat

Cheers matey  . To polish the rims I used a buffing wheel attatchment for a standard drill and the block of polish that came with it. Also Autogylm metal polish to clean them up more afterwards.

If they are really stained/clogged with brake dust then get a brillo pad on them, this usually takes all the crap off immediately but gives a dull finnish, so again polish with Autoglym.

As they are split rims it is advised that you dont use products like wonder wheels as I believe that it's too harsh on the bolts :? For general cleaning I just use normal car shampoo and obviously polish afterwards :)

I haven't a clue how much they are worth second hand, but i can't see it being much as they are arn't to most peoples tastes. You either love them or hate them  ...... Brand new I have reciepts without tyres for £2000

I did exactly the same, used a power drill attachement, think i bought it from frost.co.uk, they have loads of stuff for car restoration. I got a block of pink compound for buffing too, for a reasonable price with 2 buffing wheels.

I only polished the outer rim, and painted the bolted area along with the spokes, and i think it looks sweet!

All in all, better than paying £30 a wheel for someone else to do it, although youre aching after the days out!!

This pic doesnt really do it justice, ill post a better one!
