Info on different rev's

Post by blue2 »

Ive done a few searches on the web to find out the differences in all the rev's. I have no idea what mine is, I think its a rev2 as its a kreg :? . Im also interested to find out the cars bhp as this is proving rather difficult and there seem to be many different answers. My car is a K reg non turbo UK car. Any help would be great, oh also I have a k&n induction kit and a custom exauhst if that makes any difference.
Cheers,
Dan :)

K reg will be a rev2, Rev 3's were late L reg 94 onwards :D, or though just to confuse things i have seen some k reg rev3's but not many, i would suggest it was a rev2. The way to check on Tubbies is to look for the Airflow Meter, only rev 1 and 2's have these. Not sure this is the same on the NA though, will let a NA owner answer that one.

Your car sounds like a rev2.
If so it will have 158 bhp when it left the factory. A rev3 with the newer style rear lights would have 173 bhp.
With a more free flowing exhaust and improved indution, I'd guestimate your current bhp (depending on the wear of your engine) to be around 165 - 170 ish

Rev 3's started from December 1993 I believe so you can actually get a K-reg rev 3
