Hi nath

i did a guide on how to stop heat soak on mat sensor, Basically just relocate the the sensor into some of the intercooler pipe, i fitted mine into my st205 sock.

The thread for a locking nut is i think 14 x 1.5 which you will have to use to hold sensor is place on the inside on piping but make sure you thread lock on to stop nut coming loose

See here the rubber insulates the heat away unlike the alu does in inlet manifold

check your boot temperature as well to make sure you are getting cool air through the intercooler. Failing that buy a cheap multimeter with temp reader from Maplin and get a thermocouple under the throttle sock. That way you'll know what temps you are actually getting.

Hi Nathan,

Sorry i havent got on here until now, was great to meet you and play with your car.

The day couldnt have been better for me, you said you would be happy with 400+hp... Your face was spot on when i came out first round and asked where you wanted me to stop as it had made over 400 @1.4bar :p ;)

501.8hp was made at 1.7bar, due to the charateristics of dyno's the boost comes on later which meant the boost was on hard past the surge line, unfortunately on the road this is a different matter and any more than 1.55bar meant heavy compressor surge when teh turbo spools up.

Easily sorted though, make sure you sort that out Nath.

All markings would suggest its a HKS t04S, of the older generation.

Ryan, you were very close with your guess of power on Johns car, 395hp @ 1.6bar... not bad power at the wheels though ;)

John's not to be confused with Nathans which made more.

Thermocouple was showing 35degrees on nathans on the road, whilst the MAT sensor was showing 62deg.

Once again, a good day and i'll look forward to seeing your car at the pod Nath (if you get a day off ;) )

Cheers

nathanfreke wrote:So Surely i must have a chance of getting in the totb team next year??? What with the suspension sorted soon and maybe more power by then!

Would be cool to have the MR2 team to have a Profesional Racing driver in it too!! O:)

Mods where are you!!!!???

Nathan, congratulations on that - you've got a superb result there =D>

TOTB - yes, would be great to have you involved next year. Your driving experience will be very handy, as the MR2s should be in with a good shout on the RWD handling course.

From what I could see viewing this year's TOTB event, the layout on the handling course was quite technical, with decreasing radius turns with the coned sections being quite narrow.

Given you've got 500BHP you should also be able to get some decent times on the quarter mile too :D

Nathan, very impressive indeed. Sorry I haven't yet activated you in the project cars section, Mark has been away a lot and it's been hard to catch him in, I'll try and sort it out for you asap.

Now you have the power, go out there and use it. 8)
If you're interested a group of us (Mikejc, my TRD car and possibly a few others) are going to try and make the last Santa Pod of the year on 4th November, would be good to see the car in action!

Great results mate you must be really pleased =D>

At what kind of rpm are you seeing 1.7 bar? Just want to get an idea of response etc :D

I'm completely amazed by the GT3076 that's been fitted recently, 1.9 bar of boost by 3700rpm   It's actually faster spooling than the GT28 I was currently running! Although I think for the most part this is a result of the of the manifold and external wastegate :D

i didn't think you had that gt35 on yet you were talking about, i had a look at your car mike at the last pod and it was a gt3070series of some kind.

You had any feed back on power yet from that gt3076r? also what .ar are you running on it?
