Does any one know why there is a glass wool thingy that is cliped on to the underneath of the engine lid?
Heat or sound proofing?Cheers

It does both to an extent but is actually intended as sound deadening. Something similar has to be added to the underneath of imported MR-S's to make them quiet enough to pass SVA regs.
