Would the mk1 SC have been the quickest 4 pot to 60 when that came out?
I think the original question should have been:
What was the fastest accellerating(sp) mid engined, 2 seater, rear wheel drive car when the mk2 tubby was released?

They were absurdly fast.
But again, how many did they have to make for
it to be mass produced???
Gazboy wrote:iirc the Lotus Esprit turbo SE didn't come out untilMay 10th 1989, which hit 60 in 4.7s.
Before that was the boggo Esprit which still hit 60 in 5.4s.
The S4s does it in 4.6s and came out in 1995.
The X180R and the Sport300's performance times aren't listed, but both are way quicker than the S4s and were out in 1991 for the X180 and 1993 for the 300.
563 SE's were made, and about 800 S4's and S4s's were made.
