Getting a tubby, advice needed please!

Hello there!

Well basically, my mate has made an offer for my NA too good to refuse!
It would cost too much for me to convert it to a tubby, as its an auto box, so basically im just gonna use that money (4K), plus a little extra, and buy a nice tubby!

The thing is, i just want some advice on what to look out for, but more importantly, what to look out for in the future, as in what things start to go wrong, and costs.

I would be looking for a pretty much standard car, i would be fine with an aftermarket exhaust and wheels, but thats about it. Anything else could suggest its been ragged for years, with no way of teling.

Im not suggesting that people with lots of mods treat the cars badly, in fact far from the opposite, but it only takes one person!

So if you have any good advice, and a place where to get one from. It would be most appreciated.

Ive looked at MTTE, but they are priced a little too high for me!

Looking at my post, i can see its worded badly!
I want to stress that having mods on your car does not mean you rag it, it was just an expression. Hope you understand what i mean and i dont offend too many people on here, as i know you all love your twos, just as i do!

Hey there - you're looking for the same kind of thing as me really! I think i'm becoming too picky! I've found that cars from importers are costing way too much over my budget, but the cars which are cheap are crap!

I'm just keeping my eye on autotrader each day, and the for sale section on the board here, waiting for the right one to come along. You need to make sure you don't rush into anything, and probably get some kind of car check done (RAC etc, AA dont do it any more!).
