Short tale of motoring bliss:

Woke up early on Sunday morning

(6:45am!), girfriend still asleep, looked out of the window, perfect blue sky and my MR2 parked out in the drive.

By 7am I was in the driving seat, by 7:15am I was on the A416 in Denham heading towards Buckingham.

Those that don't know the A416, it's the most amazing road, best stretch is from Aylesbury to Buckingham, all dips and bends, often used

(and abused) by bikers and fellow sports car drivers.

The roads were clear, at one point I was overtaken by a mad
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(it was freezing cold) man driving a 1930s style open sportcar

(couldn't tell you what it was), my heater was blowing hot air while the K&N and Mongoose produced a perfect blend of hiss and roar, Virgin Radio playing quietely on the FM band, sheer motoring bliss! With the exception of couple of squirts I kept within the speed limits, didn't do any 180s, didn't race any Novas or clash with Z3 drivers.

What a perfect way to start the day! And I managed to drive back into London in time for breakfast and the Sunday papers!
