Depressing day at Dastek

How to spend a lot of money and go home on the back of an RAC truck....car was working fine, drove into workshop and alternator packed in resulting in massive voltage drop - no fault of dastek but it did take them 6 hours to realise this! So I got the bus home so to say! What are the chances of that happening?? Ive booked back again next month.....better luck next time eh?

I took my mk1 sc in to Torque Developments in Barking Essex to get the set up right.
I sat around for nearly 4 hours for them to sort it,they had it on the rolling road and all they came up with was that i neede a new throttle control valve!

Cost me over £350 for them to tell me that.Left there and the car was still running like a pig.

I let Pete Mason take it to his local garage and they sorted the problem, mainly the problem was a dodgy Thermostat.

Maybe i should have worked that out for myself but when you take a car to a well known garage,i would have thought they should have known what the problem was!!

Not good mate :( Cant fault Dastek for it tho as you rightly mention as they are there to tune the car not carry out an inspection of every component. I was a bit gutted that my power was getting sapped by det high up the rev range but I'll get it sorted and back down to them soon.
