What's the piping got to do with it? You could have 5ft diameter pipes and it still would still be restrictive if the core was not sized/designed right, which is what I suspect.

Its a very crude rule of thumb for standard '2s running boost levels slightly above stock.

Once you're +3-4psi over standard boost for your '2 then it won't hold true as the turbo will be running less efficently.

Take a Standard CT-26 for example - at 16 or 17psi it basically turns into a big hairdrier, doing a good job heating the air up (to create boost) rather than compressing the air and keeping it cool (which creates useful power).

Extreme example, but you get the idea - you guys know this anyway :)

Sorry to hear the results mate, its always depressing after a bad mapping session - i suspect Pete will start dancing for joy when we get to the bottom of the problem!.

I am working with Dino on something that will just replace the Pace core with a custom top mount. We have calculated flow at around 500bhp so far and the first prototypes will be running at the Noble Motorsports dyno day.

By the end of March there WILL be a decent CC available for the MR2 I can gurantee you that!.

Yes I realize that  but wouldn't larger piping flow more air .....?
one thing I have noticed with my pace cc is that the piping is a lot smaller in diameter than the throttle body inlet... surley this must not help....... after all early revision cars even have an option of buying a bigger throttle body inlet (people cliaming that this is a restriction) would this not be the same kinda thing...... :?:

Myself and the good chaps over at Roque Systems, (namely Patrick & Matt) are working together to find out what problems the Pace c/c is posing if any and if so a solution will follow :)

No, we don't tell porkies! ;) I was actually with Mike at Thor when they dyno tested his car so I'm at the sharp end of this issue.

We'll be investigating more fully over the next week and hopefully confirming whether or not the Pace chargecooler core becomes a restriction over a certain point. If it does then we will provide a solution.
